[link] And for those of you who want to try and fix this [link] Nick Movies Re: The Last Airbender movie 5555 Melrose Place Modular Bldg #213 Los Angeles CA 90036 USA Blinding Edge Pictures 100 Four Falls Corporate Center Suite 102 Conshohocken, PA 19428 Yeah I am NOT happy with how this movie is turning out. It's Dragonball all over again! I was confused as to why they let M. Night Shyamalan write and direct the LIVE ACTION AVATAR MOVIE but was still hopeful to the idea that he would do something new and exciting. Then I found out the plot of the movie would just be season one summed up into two hours. REALLY? You want to squish ten hours of solid story telling onto that small a time slot? What on earth makes this a good idea? The first act will probably flow like the first two or three episodes. While act two will probably be little more than a brief montage of traveling with a few empty fight scenes thrown in. (And if we're REALLY lucky we MIGHT get to hear Zuko's origin and have ONE adventure in the earth kingdom or spirit realm.) And now THIS was the straw that broke the camels back! A LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME CAST! Looks like instead of going for talented unknowns who LOOK the part of the deep well rounded characters, the studio or director or some random C.F.O. thought it would be a good idea to fill the cast with teen idols from twilight and the Disney channel. It seems that they care more about cashing in on TEMPORARY teenage idols and making a quick buck. So instead of getting another STAR WARS or LORD OF THE RINGS we're going to end up with High School Musical. Mister M. Night, if you need help on FIXING this and AVOIDING a disaster and actually making something truly EPIC for this generation, Call me. Just Google Razmere. |

Second what you fans don't realize is this movie won't be epic to the standards of something like Star Wars or LoTR. Because LoTR was based on books so it made it easy to make and Star Wars was already just a movie, so it couldn't be criticized for being unfaithful to the original (Though of course, fans bitch about ep I through III like it was the plague)
But this movie is going to be based on a series that even a good portion of the fans didn't even like the ending of it, what the fuck are people expecting for a movie?

Worse still, they haven't yet decided who to use for what is probably the single most popular character of the show: Toph. They better find someone good for that role, or even the most hardened fans will die in agony. And McCartney for Zuko? May the gods of the path stand with me...

Yea, they didn't do so well with casting...
Was kinda expecting to at LEAST have a cast of ethnically diverse people...that was ruined...I mean, I was expecting maybe one or two white people, african american people for Saka and Katara, and some asian people (Zuko and Toph perhaps?).
I wouldn't care if they didn't exactly fit the full physical profile, it just bothers me that its an all white cast right now. I will say they DID get some talented people for the roles, but they could have done better with the others.
Hilarious comic, by the way; nicely done!
